We already have a new application of the week. On this occasion, Apple has made available to all users a game called Pixel Cup Soccer 16, a title that I had once seen in passing by the App Store but had not given a chance until yesterday, when it began to be part of Apple's weekly promotion. Once tested, I think it is a game that is worth it.
As you may have guessed from the word “Soccer”, Pixel Cup Soccer 16 is a Football game in which pixels will have some importance. It is not that we are going to use points or anything like that, but that the graphics of this game look somewhat pixelated, something that is undoubtedly done on purpose, perhaps seeking to give a slightly retro image. This is something they achieve, and not just because of the graphics.

Although Pixel Cup Soccer 16 is not the same as other old games, like my dear Tehkan Cup in which goals can only be scored if we do a few tricks, this game very reminiscent of other games from the 80s-90s for the movements and the way to score goals. As in many of these older games, we will only have three controls: the controller, the fire button and the pass button. But that we only have two buttons does not make this title boring, far from it. If we press any of the buttons for a while, the shot will pick up some force and, for example, if we do it with the pass / cross we can put a Vaseline from quite a distance. Or that of "we can" is in theory, because I have not succeeded. I know it is possible because they have scored goals for me like this ...
What is also interesting about Pixel Cup Soccer 16 is the quantity of turns available. We have the World Cup, the Olympics, the Eurocup, the America's Cup and the women's versions of the World Cup and the Olympics. As if that were not enough, we can also do a penalty shootout. But we must be careful because if we do not shoot at the right time, we will fall and eat the grass ...
I know that I say many times that it is worth downloading it to link it to the Apple ID and that I leave many of the games of the app of the week on my iPhone or iPad, but I am going to leave Pixel Cup Soccer 16 installed with a probability of 103%. Like with a FIFA, I can always play a tournament or a quick match to kill time, right?
