PowerUp 3.0: a paper plane controlled by the iPhone

When I have seen PowerUp 3.0 I have remembered my school days how many hours have you spent doing paper Planes and checking which one flew farthest? I many. Now the aircraft that flies the furthest is the one with the PowerUp 3.0 accessory.

Is a propeller that is added to a paper airplane to fly a good time, the interesting thing about this plane is that it is controlled with the iPhone, you can steer it with a free app for iPhone. The operation is very simple and a lot of fun.

You only have to design your paper plane and add this accessory with a small motor, a battery, a propeller and a rudder to steer it wherever you want and download the app for the iPhone.

If you want to go higher or faster you just have to make the propeller turn faster, and to go down the other way around, for this there is an accelerator on the iPhone screen. To control the direction, just tilt iPhone in the direction you want to turn. The app shows you the range and the remaining battery life. With a full charge you will have about 10 minutes of fun (it is charged by USB, so you can use external batteries to charge it).

On the official Kickstarter page there is another video where you can see the plane fly for several minutes. The range of the device is about 55 meters, more than enough to have a good time in the park. The skeleton is carbon fiber, so you don't have to worry about it breaking. And if the paper airplane breaks, you just have to make a new one.

It works with bluetooth-smart, so you know that it will only be compatible with iPhone 4S and later. Allows wireless updates.

You can buy it for only 30 dollars and you will have to add another 15 dollars to send it outside the United States. Total about 33 euros put at home.
