The information on public transport in cities is a new function that Apple presented in the keynote in which it presented iOS 9. Today this function is barely found in a score of cities, most are in the United States and not counting the thirty cities in China that are available from day one. The latest city that Apple just added to the cities that support public transport information is Prague in the Czech Republic. Currently in Europe this information is only available in Berlin and London and now in Prague. Let's see if Apple is encouraged and has just expanded this service to other European cities.
The information on public transport that Apple Maps offers us about the city of Prague, shows us all the bus lines, trains and trams so that we can move around the city and its surroundings using only public transport without having to resort to the use of taxis or having to hire those very expensive excursions that they always offer us on all trips we make abroad.
Currently the information on public transport through Apple Maps is available at: Austin, Baltimore, Berlin, Boston, Chicago, 30 cities in China, Denver, Honolulu, Kansas City, London, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Miami, Montreal, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, Rio de Janeiro, Sacramento, San Diego, British Columbia, San Francisco, Seattle, Sydney, Toronto and Washington.
Today we know what are the expansion plans of Apple Maps around the world but if the path they are taking is similar to that of the implementation of Apple Pay, it seems to me that we are going to have to wait a few years to be able to enjoy, at least in the main European and South American cities, the possibility of obtaining from our iPhone the information about the public transport options available at that time.
