Touch ID issues after updating to iOS 7.1? We tell you how to solve it

With the new update to Apple's most popular operating system, one of the things they said they had put more emphasis on to improve performance is the Touch ID fingerprint recognition system, recently incorporated into the iPhone 5s.

However, there are times when you try to fix a problem and the result is the opposite effect. Apparently, after this update there are users whose Touch ID is systematically failing them when it did not happen before. If this is your case, from here we propose some of the possible solutions to end this failure once and for all.

1. Delete all saved tracks and add them again

The best we can do in the first place is to proceed to delete all the tracks that we have saved so far and re-register them. We can do this very quickly.

1. We open Settings and we go to the section of touch ID.
2. We write our security code when requested.
3. select any footprint and we delete it. We repeat the process with all of them.
4. We press the button to add footprint and we go recording our footprints again.

Once this is done, we check if our problem has been solved or not. If so, that's it, we must not go any further. However, some people may continue to fail. If this happens, we will try the next step.

2. Restore iPhone from backup

The next step that we must follow to solve the fingerprint problem is restore our device from iTunes. This is something very easy that almost all of us will have had to do at some time due to various circumstances.

1. We connect our device to the Mac / Pc and we wait for iTunes to be released.
2. On the main screen where the iPhone is shown we click on »Restore».
3. In the next window we choose if we want to carry out a Backup at that moment. If so, we click the button to make a copy and in case we have already made the copy before or in iCloud, we deny it.
4. Later we give to »Restore and update».
5. We wait for iTunes finish doing your job.

Once the process is finished we can restore the backup from iTunes directly or from iCloud. We proceed to check if our footprint finally works and, if not, we move on to the next point.

3. Visiting the Apple Store

If you've reached this point, what happens to your iPhone are big words. It may be time to go to your nearest Apple Store for advice on what to do. In some cases, your iPhone 5s may be replaced on the spot. To schedule an appointment at Genius Bar and thus not having to wait in the store, we can do it directly from the Apple website.

The reason why it is not advisable to take our iPhone to the Apple Store from the first moment, is that the first thing they will probably ask us when they get there is that we have made a backup copy of the iPhone to proceed with its restoration.
