This afternoon we received a newly purchased iPhone a few days ago in the US. The iPhone came with the 1.1.2 OTB (Out of The Box) firmware with the 4.6 bootloader and is already unlocked working like a normal iPod Touch.
As you well know, it is not yet possible to release 1.1.2 unless we use a TurboSIM, but just in case someone has an iPhone with the same version and needs to unlock it, I will post the whole procedure.
We will need:
- Firmware 1.1.1 . Do not download it with Safari, since if it does not open automatically and what we want is to download it to our hard drive.
- iBrick (Windows). If you have a Mac you can use It depends instead
- jailbreak 1.1.2
Once we have all the programs downloaded to the computer, we can start the process:
- Connect iPhone to computer
- Open iTunes
- Put the iPhone in recovery mode. To do this you have to press the Home button and the Power button at the same time
- When iTunes alerts you that an iPhone is in recovery mode, press the restore button with Shift pressed at the same time.
- Select the firmware 1.1.1 that you had previously downloaded to the hard drive
- Wait while iTunes restores the firmware. Normally the process ends with error 1013 or 1015 but nothing happens. This is normal
- Boots the iBrick and restart the iPhone (Reboot my Iphone). If all goes well, your iPhone screen will turn a reddish hue.
- On the iPhone, enter Emergency Call and dial: * # 307 # and give him a call.
- When the phone is ringing, erase the number and dial 0.
- At this time the mobile will call again, pick up the hook and press the Hold button, then reject (decline) the call.
- At this time you have to be able to access the contacts menu.
- Add a contact with the name Panamac
- Add the URL prefs: // 1F and click on save
- Add the URL http://jailbreakme.com and click on save
- Save contact
- Click on the first URL (prefs: // 1F), go to Settings> General> Auto-Lock and put it in state You are never.
- Go back to settings and correctly configure access to your WiFi network
- Press the Home button on the iPhone
- Enter Emergency Call again, dial 0 and press call. When the phone rings you pick it up, press Hold and reject it (Decline)
- The contacts section will appear on the screen again.
- Enter the second URL (http://jailbreakme.com)
- Go to the end of the web and click on the Install AppSnapp button
- Wait while Safari closes, wait a few minutes and click on Emergency Call.
- The iPhone should restart
- Once the iPhone is working again, click on the blue "Installer" icon. If he asks you to update, you say yes.
- Inside the Installer, install BSD subsystem, OpenSSH and inside TWEAKS 1.1.1 the oktoprep
- In iTunes click on update and update your device to version 1.1.2
- Run Jailbreak 1.1.2 and click on the "Jailbreak" button
- Wait while the program updates the iPhone ...
- And that's it, you already have your iPhone 1.1.2 OTB ready to function as an iPod Touch.
Although I have already mentioned it at the beginning of the post, I repeat it to avoid doubts. This process does not allow you to use the iPhone as a phone. For that you have to wait until a new version of the unlocking software appears or buy a TurboSIM.
