Production of the Galaxy X, Samsung's folding screen smartphone, will begin in November

Over the past week, the CES, one of the three most important technology fairs held throughout the year throughout the world, has been held in Las Vega, a fair where the main manufacturers have presented the products that will reach consumers throughout the year.

But these fairs are also the perfect setting for closed-door meetings. Apple took advantage of the framework offered by the fair to meet with companies in the augmented reality sector. But it has not been the only big one that has held this type of meeting, since the Korean company also took advantage of this event to make a private presentation of the Galaxy X, the terminal with a folding screen that Samsung has been working on in recent years.

According to the Korean publication The Kore Herald, the company presented several prototypes during the meeting, stating that it will be a "flawless product that will dominate the market in the long run." Apparently, and according to the publication, the development of this terminal has ended and speculation about the launch is increasing.

The CEO of Samsung, confirmed in an interview to a medium during CES, that they're working on a flip phone, without specifying more information about it. It is not the first official news made public about the interest of the Korean company in this regard, since the CEO himself, stated in September last year that the first folding smartphone could reach the market in 2018, launching a new category, different from the S and Note range.

According to some rumors, Samsung is planning to begin mass production of this foldable screen smartphone next November, so the company would already have all the necessary technology at its fingertips to mass-manufacture this type of screen, the biggest problem with this terminal, a terminal that could have, according to most rumors, two flexible 7,3-inch OLED screens , XNUMX inches diagonal each and folded inward.

If production finally starts later this year, it is more than likely that Samsung uses MWC 2019 to officially introduce the world's first folding screen smartphone, as long as the LG company does not get ahead, since it is another of the leading companies in the flexible screen sector as it has shown in the past CES where it has presented a 4K OLED screen that can be rolled up on itself.
