Protection through Face ID and Touch ID will come to Facebook Messenger

Despite the fact that the most used messaging application in the world is still WhatsApp, the guys from Facebook do not forget that they also have Messenger, the message service of the social network Facebook that does not require a Facebook account to use it, just a phone number.

The latest news related to this application is found in a new function that Facebook is testing. We are talking about the possibility of being able protect using Face ID, Touch ID or passcode access to the application, as is currently offered by WhatsApp.

When we are forced to leave our iPhone to a third person, regardless of the trust we have with it, it is unlikely not interested that you can have access to our messaging applications either WhatsApp, Telegram or Messenger.

Thanks to this function, if we are lovers of our privacy, we will be able to protect access to the application, although we will be able to continue responding to lock screen notifications without having to unlock the app.

Within the configuration options, according to the guys from Engadget, Messenser will allow us to set the time in which we want the application to request the established unlock again, so as not to have to be unblocking access if we switch between applications while having a conversation. As stated from Facebook:

We want to give people more options and controls to protect their private messages, and recently, we started testing a feature that allows you to unlock the Messenger app using your device's settings. It is an added layer of privacy to prevent someone else from accessing your messages

This function at the moment is in the testing phase with a small number of users, so for now we will have to wait until it is available through an update.
