PUBG ditches its relationship with Tencent to be able to return to the Indian market

PUBG

It is not only the United States that is having a crusade with China. India is another of the countries that, after the incidents that occurred on the border between the two countries in which several soldiers died, has started a crusade against China and everything that comes from that country.

The first step was made a few weeks ago, when removed TikTok plus 59 other Chinese apps available in the application stores, both in the App Store and in the Play Store. The second step was taken a few days ago after deleting 177 other apps and games, among the ones who is PUBG Mobile.

Although it may seem strange, India is the country where more users enjoy this title with more than 50 million monthly users. Obviously, this is a serious blow to the accounts of PUBG Corp, the company that is behind both the PC version, as well as the version for consoles and mobile devices.

The mobile version arrived, like Call of Duty, via Tencent, a video game giant that stands behind many companies like Epic Games, Riot Games, Supcercell, Unisoft ...

In order to be available again on the Indian app stores, PUBG Corporation has been forced to break your relationship with Tencent Games, the same move that Activision also did with its Call of Duty: Mobile title at the end of August.

In the press release where PUBG Corporation has announced the cessation of cooperation with Tencent, it states that will handle the development and updates of the game without depending on any Asian company. The decision of remove PUBG Mobile in India occurred shortly before the launch of the latest PUBG Mobile update, an update that includes graphical improvements, a new interface, and a major update to the veteran Erangel map.
