Put a GPS on your iPod touch

When those of us who have an iPod touch saw a thread of light in the TomTom Car Kit, things got good. The problem came when TomTom said that in the end nothing, that it could not be used with the iPod touch, period.

Today's solution goes through Dual Electronics, which has presented a pack to improve the iPod touch and equip it with GPS, an improved speaker and a turn-by-turn navigation application, as well as an external battery so as not to strike ours.

Of course, you have to think about it before, that anyone drops 180 bucks just like that, and more with the times ...

Well yes ... you put the Rocky Gps and a bluetooth antenna and run ...

I have already tried it with my external bluetooth antenna, with xip sirf star 3 and it works quite well ... And I have tried different gps ... tom tom, navigon, xgps drive, xgps sport ... and everything Ok on my iphone 2G ... the only one Little problem is the Igo .. (you have to connect the gps, and start the program, before it catches satellite that if it is not caught) ...

And if we talk about the anti-crisis pack… for 10 euros on ebay you find a car charger and a very good looking bracket… and bluetooth antennas,… for about 20 euros you have it if you look well… total 30 euros .. not like the tom tom car kit .. which is a price insult ...

    hehe

And is there any way to improve the gps of the iphone 3g? A clear part of the tomtom car kit?
And has anyone tried tomtom's? Does it really improve anything?

and one last question: would the tomtom + Rocky Gps car kit work on a first generation iphone?

    thanks in advance.

Yesterday I bought the tomtom carkit for iphone in corteingles and it works with both my iphone 3 gs and my ipod touch 2 g. You just have to press the connector button for it to work like a charm

It seems that the gps of the mobiles are not excessively powerful ... that's why the gps of the iphone 3G - .. S ... has a bit of a fault, .. hence Tom Tom took out his GPS support with antenna that connects via dock (then you don't need the rocky bluetooth) ...
The Rocky is in case you have a bluetooth gps antenna .. how was my case for having a pda before .. etc ...
There are also other gps that connect via dock like Orange gadgets….
. However I am not going to spend a whopping what the tom tom car kit is worth ... and less in these times .. being able to how I said for about 30 euros to put an external bluetooth gps .. that uses another battery of its own and that we can use in the street also without problems (I have already tried walking with the antenna in my briefcase) ...

But everyone is free to do what they want, hehe, that is, if for ipod touch or iphone 2G, I would certainly not buy the tom tom car kit ...

roqyBT .. you install it from Cydia, it pays… € 8 or… for the face if you work it out: D, connect the bluetooth antenna you have and then use a program like Navigon or TomTom… and that's it.

I use an iPhone EDGE and antenna a Leadtek GPS Bluetooth LR9537 Y !!! PERFECT
