How to record iPhone calls without jailbreak

Record calls without jailbreak

Depending on the country we are in, recording phone calls will be legal or illegal. That may be one of the reasons why we can't record calls with an iPhone, or at least there is no button to facilitate the task. Some time ago I was following a developer who was creating a tweak to record calls on the iPhone and had to speak with several lawyers to finally decide to add an acoustic warning so that the other side would know that the call was going to be recorded.

The normal thing in a case like this is to think that it is necessary to jailbreak our iPhone, but no, it is not like that. There is a way to record calls on an iPhone no jailbreak but, as I said above, there is no button and no intuitive way to do it. It is about doing as a ByPass, although I get the feeling that Apple does not intend to fix it and might even have knowingly added it. Here we show you the process to follow.

How to record calls on iPhone

First of all, we have to make sure that our operator allows us to use the iPhone's Visual Voicemail. If we tap on the «Mailbox» button from the Telephone application and we see that it does not give us an option, this method does not work for us. If we have it active, we will carry out the following steps:

  1. We open the phone application.
  2. We made a call.
  3. We touch on the option «add call».
  4. We dialed our phone number. This will send the call to our mailbox.
  5. When the call begins to be recorded in our mailbox, we tap on the "join calls" option, which will make the call we made in step 2 join the one we made in step 4 and record the entire conversation.
  6. To be able to listen to the conversation, we only have to enter the "Mailbox" section of the Telephone application.

As I said earlier, you have to be careful when recording calls because it might not be legal. The best thing is to do as the companies that sell something over the phone do: notify us saying that we are going to record, and if they tell us that they agree, better than better. Have you managed to record any calls?

I wonder, being voice mail, does the call cost you money? I understand that leaving a message in the mailbox of someone you call costs money, which is why many people hang up when they hear the typical robot lady saying to leave her message.

Hi Jesss. It depends on the company, but most likely yes. In any case, recording a call should be for something important.

      A greeting.

And what happens if instead of making the call, they have called me, does the method work?

Hello, a question, does it work by pressing home during the call and opening the voice notes app and recording directly?
Greetings, it served me before, I don't know if it will continue to serve ...

I understand the "trick" and it obviously depends on your company. What makes me laugh is the phrase that apple has knowingly added it or has no intention of removing it.

My friend, what you use is called a conference call and it is a service offered by your telemarketer. Here apple neither enters nor leaves, in fact you can do it with any terminal that supports multiconferencing like a… Nokia 3310 🙂
