Ecoembes, the non-profit organization that coordinates the recycling of light domestic packaging in Spain, has been commissioned to create RECICLOS. For this, the necessary technology is being implanted in the yellow containers in several cities in Spain with the aim of increasingly increasing the network of compatible containers. Among the main recycling points are cities such as Castellón, Getafe, Seville, Vigo, Logroño, Málaga, Valencia or Zaragoza, among others.

Recycle plastic beverage cans and bottles by capturing their barcode to earn points
The operation of RECICLOS is very simple. Just download the app from the Play Store or the App Store. First of all, we will have to register to be able to associate the points obtained to our account. Next we will have to make sure that our city has containers compatible with the app.
You can participate in two ways: in the yellow containers through QR and RECICLOS machines, similar to vending machines where we can deposit our cans and bottles. To see what we have nearby, we will access the 'Recycle' tab and click on 'Search containers nearby'. Once we have found our nearest container, the first thing we have to do is scan the barcodes of the cans and plastic bottles of beverages that we want to recycle and we will go to the yellow container.
Once in the container, we will deposit the containers in it. Subsequently, we will scan the QR of the container and the points (or RECYCLES) will be automatically added to our account.
We can add 25 containers a week. In addition, we can get extra points by inviting new users.
Redeem your points in raffles or environmental projects
The main purpose of RECICLOS is none other than to promote recycling and increase the utilization rate of the yellow bins. However, repeated use of the app generates a series of points that can be used for different actions. The application is updated with different ways to redeem those points that we are getting with our recycling.
We can participate in sweepstakes with products as succulent as electric scooters, tablets, bicycles and much more. On the other hand, we can also use our points to participate in collaborative projects that will improve society.
