How to restore on iPhone in "recovery mode"

On iOS devices it is extremely difficult to end up “bricking” the device, the term used when the operating system has been damaged for some reason and it is impossible to run it. This is because the iPhone has a system that is also present in Android known as "Recovery Mode", an easy to select configuration that will allow us to restore the operating system of our iOS device without too many complications. The only problem with "Recovery Mode" is that we will need external elements such as a PC / macOS with iTunes installed and connection via USB-Lightning to the iPhone or iPad.

Put the device in "Recovery Mode" It is extremely easy, for this we are going to follow the following steps calmly, and if you do not get it the first time, do not despair, try again:

  • Start iTunes on the PC or Mac you are using.
  • Connect your iPhone via USB connector to PC or Mac with iTunes open.
  • MODE 1: With the iPhone or iPad connected, press "Home + Power" until the apple logo appears, then release the "Power" button and hold only the Home button until the iTunes logo appears on the screen.
  • MODE 2: Without disconnecting it via USB, turn off the iPhone in normal mode once connected, now turn it on by pressing "Home + Power" until you see the apple logo, then only keep the Home button until the iTunes logo appears on the screen.
  • Will now appear an iTunes message indicating that there is a problem with the iPhone, that you can "Restore" or "Update" the device.

Now just choose the option that suits you best and wait for the new update or restore of the operating system to take effect. If everything works fine, it will stop giving you trouble. Make sure not to disconnect the iOS device from the PC / Mac from USB until everything is done.
