Kinght's Onrush It has been in the AppStore for some time, and yet we have never told you about it. I recently had the pleasure of trying it, and here I leave you a review. A game that has no waste, available for both the iPhone and iPod Touch.
Knight's onrush immerses us in a world of knights, armor and castles. Without a doubt, the famous company Chillingo He has created a very good game, with very good graphics, even though they are in two dimensions.
This game can be classified in that kind of strategy games in which we have to resist the attacks of the enemies, or simply try to finish them off before they cross our territory. Knight's onrush belongs to the first type of them, and after having tried several games of this style, I am sure to say that it is the leader in this section.
To begin with, the first time we test the game we can realize how careful the graphics are, with very smooth and fluid animations.
The main objective of the game is, as I have said, to defend our castle from the attack of the enemies for a whole day. Logically, a day in the game lasts a few minutes. In order to defend the castle, as soldiers, horsemen, catapults, etc. appear, we will have to select them with our finger and throw them as far as possible. Another option is to launch them directly against the main door of the castle, it gives very good results with catapults, for example.
There are three different game modes:
- Bell
- Endless assault
- Madness
In the first mode, we will play 12 different screens (phases). In each of them we will find new enemies and in greater numbers.
One detail to take into account is the change in the castle's position when playing the different screens in Campaign mode. This will allow us to relax our fingers a bit between games.
In the mode Endless assault We can play until we get tired, as is, or rather until our castle holds. The game can go on for hours, although honestly, I don't think our fingers will last that long.
From the game options menu we can change the difficulty of the games, being able to choose between three levels: Easy, Intermediate and Hard. This option is very useful if we get stuck in any of the phases.
When we find ourselves playing in the mode of Bell, we can hook the enemies on the hook that you can see in the image below. To do this, we will simply select the enemy and take him to the hook. Once hooked, a dragon will appear and eat it like nothing, adding special points to our score.
As the game progresses and we get higher scores, we can buy defense weapons, attack weapons and improve the resistance of the door of our castle. Among the available weapons we find, among others: cannons, crossbows, fireballs and giant stone balls. These weapons will be very useful when we have a good number of enemies at the castle gate. Using any of them we can kill several of them in a moment.
If there was a feature to improve in the game, it would be the sound effects. When we've been playing for a long time, these can get a bit cumbersome and repetitive, but I don't think many of the regular players will use headphones for short games. Anyway, we can always listen to our own music, since in the options menu we can deactivate the music of the game.
