Review everything about the Elections with the official government app

26J

As in past years we have fervently criticized the neglect of institutions in relation to applications for iPhone and mobile terminals in general, this time we must applaud because Ministry of Interior a more than dignified job has been done with the 26J application of the General Elections in Spain. Let's take a look and find out why.

Retail

As soon as we start we must choose the language in which we want the app (from among all the official languages that we have in Spain), and from there we enter a menu from which we can access the results end of the elections that took place recent days in Spanish territory.

In principle the application represents us the results at the congress in two semicircles (2015 and 2016) so that we can buy between the results of these two rounds, while at the bottom we can see the complete and detailed list of the deputies that the different parties have obtained once all the votes.

On the other hand, we can access all data of participation (including information on invalid votes, abstentions and blank votes), being able to divide them both by Autonomous Communities and by any of all the populations that exist in the Spanish territory.

It can improve

The application fulfills its mission more than (and it is not that we are going to use it intensively, of course), but it has some details that I personally think can be improved without undue cost of time.

On the one hand we find slow transitions, such as when a drop-down menu appears before us. On an iPhone 6s for example, it is still not very fluid, which is complex to understand except for a poor optimization of the application when working with the corresponding API.

Finally, it is necessary to review the design that, although globally passes the approved the little details they fail to integrate with iOS. Overly large arrows, unintuitive icons, and some overly small fonts are just a few glimpses of things that could change to make the app feel a little more 'at home' when used on an iPhone.

Of course the application it has no cost associated or announcements, as is to be expected, since it comes from the Ministry of the Interior itself as we have already commented previously.
