We analyze the Roidmi F8 Storm vacuum cleaner, power and efficiency

The arrival of cordless vacuum cleaners has meant a radical change in the use of these devices. Appliances and with a very limited range defined by the closest outlet, conventional vacuum cleaners ended up in most cases relegated to a space in the house's storage room, waiting for that lucky day when we steeled ourselves to use them. But that has changed.

Much lighter, more manageable and with the freedom of dispensing with cables, the new vacuum cleaners with built-in battery are getting better and better in terms of power and autonomy, and the new Roidmi F8 Storm model also comes with the idea of ​​standing up to other premium models, and it is going to make it very difficult.

Design and Specifications

With a design that has been worthy of awards such as reddot or IF in 2018, it will not be a cleaning tool that you want to hide in the corner of a closet, something that may seem anecdotal but is very important, because in the end the most decisive thing when using something is that you have it on hand whenever you need it. Its weight is 1,5Kg although depending on the accessories we use it can reach a maximum of 2,5Kg. Suddenly using your main unit with a small head is really manageable with one hand.

Its engine that reaches 100.000 rpm and its 115W gives it the necessary power to be able to carry out any vacuuming task that you may need at home, and you also have the possibility of using a turbo mode for those moments when you need a bigger push to get rid of dirt at home. Its internal battery gives it an autonomy of 55 minutes in normal mode, more than enough to vacuum a normal size home, although if we need the turbo mode this time of use is drastically reduced to about 10 minutes. For my use the battery is more than enough, since I hardly have to use Turbo mode. Charging time is around two and a half hours for a full recharge.

What has seemed more limiting to me is its dirt tank, barely 400ml, which means that you have to empty it as soon as the cleaning task goes beyond something specific. This is something common in this type of vacuum cleaners, since you cannot have a compact size, lightness and a huge deposit of dirt. Of course it has a HEPA filter, something very important when choosing a vacuum cleaner model and that other cheaper models do not include.

The main unit has LEDs that indicate the remaining battery when you are using it, or the charge level when you are recharging it. It also has an LED that indicates that it is necessary to empty the dirt tank, although it is really very easy to see it thanks to the fact that it is transparent. Removing the tank and emptying it and then replacing it is very simple and fast, something that is appreciated after trying other vacuum cleaners of this type with unnecessarily more complicated mechanisms.

All kinds of accessories included

Included in the box everything you may need on any occasion to get the most out of a vacuum cleaner like this. A main head with two types of brushes, one for more delicate surfaces and the other for more intensive cleaning that can be changed in just a few seconds. It also includes a smaller head also with a rotating brush that according to the brand is ideal for cleaning mattresses and other materials in which they can accumulate expensive. We complete the content with an extension cord, a flexible piece to reach the most inaccessible corners, a brush head, a replacement filter and the magnetic base with which we can leave the vacuum cleaner resting and recharging. Other models include the charger in the same base, in this model it is not like that, something that we miss, but it is not a major problem either because it has some side hooks so that the cable does not hang when not in use.

The base can be placed anywhere by means of two fixing options: by means of an adhesive that is already placed by default, or by means of screws that are also included in the box. A transparent adhesive will allow you to finish the base to the wall without fearing for the integrity of your painting if at any time you want to change its location. The vacuum cleaner is perfectly stable thanks to the magnets that they incorporate since it does not hang from the wallInstead, it leans on its main head to rest.

Manageability

It is one of the lightest cordless vacuum cleaners you can find, but it also has articulated heads that allow a very simple handling that allows you to reach inaccessible corners. Vacuuming under chairs is pretty easy with a little practice, which saves a lot of time by not having to move furniture to be able to vacuum. If we add to this that it has LED lights that turn on automatically when it detects that the ambient light is low, being able to vacuum under the bed without leaving a trace is an easily achievable reality with this Roidmi F8 Storm.

It only has a couple of buttons, one for on and off, another for the turbo. Actually the ignition also activates the turbo mode if you press it with the vacuum cleaner already on (to turn off you have to press and hold for a few seconds) so that I can't see the need for that second button, but I don't think it's a problem either. Emptying the container or changing the filter is very simple, as is changing the accessories that we want to use, as you can see in the video that accompanies this article.

An application that complements it

From the App Store (or Google Play) we can download an application (link) that complements the vacuum cleaner by offering us very useful information. You don't need any configuration process, you just have to place your iPhone near the vacuum cleaner, open the application and it will detect it automatically, without the need for links. With this app you can control the normal vacuuming power, which will affect the autonomy of the vacuum cleaner, so it is best that you use the one you really need. You will also be able to see data such as the remaining battery life, the filter status, and other curious data such as the exhaled surface or the calories consumed.

Roidmi has achieved a very balanced product with this F8 Storm, managing to compete directly with other major brands such as Dyson, offering features that stand up to it and in some cases even exceed it, such as the number of accessories included in the box. Due to autonomy, weight, suction power and accessories included in the box, it is difficult to fail to recommend this Roidmi F8 Storm for anyone who wants a cordless vacuum cleaner that they can use whenever they need.
