Runtastic Moment Classic, analysis of this watch with a wearable air

The wearables industry is booming. There are more and more activity bracelets and smart watches on the market, with the Apple Watch being the one that best integrates with iOS by far. This is where the new ones come in Runtastic Moment watches, a fairly wide range of designs for all tastes that aims to cover that gap that exists between the activity bracelet and the smartwatch. We have been testing the classic for a few days since, due to my personal tastes, I tend to choose watches that are slightly overloaded and with elegant designs, of a lifetime and more or less, the Runtastic Moment Classic meets these premises. Unboxing

The Runtastic Moment comes in packaging quite similar to that of the company's activity bracelet. The box is not the usual one for a watch and instead, we find a clear plastic blister that lets us see the appearance of the watch.

As we open this box, we realize that in this section, Runtastic could have worked it out a little more. We are talking about a 199 euro watch and there are certain details that should have been taken care of more in the presentation. The screwdriver is glued to the inside of the cardboard, the box is not suitable for storing the watch safely when we are not using it or putting on another one, etc.

I understand that the cheapest model can afford such a packaging but costing 199 euros, it leaves us a initial feeling a little cold that luckily, it vanishes when we have the watch in hand.

First impressions

The watch in the hand is very beautiful, at least I like it. His 42 mm polished steel case in diameter gives it an elegant, classic and sophisticated touch due to the different bezels.

The decoration of the dial is also very simple and without frills. Simply a small sphere at the bottom will serve as a reference for control the daily activity we carry out until reaching the objective set in the application. Obviously, this simplicity forces us to turn to the iPhone when we want to see more detailed statistics such as distance, number of steps, activity time, etc. It is clear that if you want it to play sports, perhaps you should bet on the Runtastic Orbit.

The only button on the right side of the watch is for activate sleep log. We press it for a couple of seconds and a soft vibrating notification will indicate that everything is ready to go to bed, in addition, the needle on the dial will point to a moon and that will also serve to know that the Runtastic Moment is in night mode . When we get up in the morning, we repeat the operation of pressing the button and the recording of the daily activity will start again.

The strap on this Runtastic Moment model is black skin, very discreet. The buckle again shows the polished steel finish and has the company logo engraved on it. One detail that I liked about the strap is that the pins that fix it to the watch case can be removed without the need for tools, something that makes it easy to change it for any other of the same size.

Regarding autonomy, it is too early to have references but Runtastic promises that The CR2430 Lithium battery will last several months without having to change it, something we can do ourselves with the included screwdriver and a bit of skill. Undoubtedly, the absence of a backlit screen and the use of SmartBluetooth It helps to achieve such a long battery life although as always, it will depend on the number of times we synchronize the clock with the iPhone.

To finish, in the lower part we can see some characteristics of the watch although perhaps the one that interests the most is its water resistance up to 100 meters deep.

As can be seen, the Runtastic Moment is a watch with the air of an activity monitor. I think there are quite a few people who want to record their daily activity but as a curiosity and this product is perfect for that since its autonomy is good, it goes unnoticed and it can be submerged in water without problems.

To know the recorded data in more depth, we synchronize the iPhone with the Runtastic Me app and ready. The watch is capable of storing activity for seven days without interruption so it is not even necessary that we synchronize with the mobile every day.
