Samsung launches a Beta to use its Gear S2 smartwatch with the iPhone

Samsung

It has been many months since the application to connect the Samsung Gear S2 with the iPhone was leaked, thus revealing the intentions of the Korean brand that its smartwatch could be used with the iPhone. Well, when many had already lost hope that this would happen, it seems that it will come sooner rather than later, because Samsung has just launched a program to test the aforementioned application that will allow us to link the Gear S2 watch with our iPhone, and thanks to him we know the details about its compatibility with different iPhone models and iOS versions.

Why would anyone want to have a Gear S2 when they can have an Apple Watch? The reasons can be very varied. Price may be one of them, since The Samsung watch is around € 250 in stores like Amazon, € 100 less than the cheapest model of the Apple watch. But there are also other points to take into account such as the design, being a round watch instead of the square shape of the Apple Watch, or the compatibility with different smartphones, since the Gear S2 would be compatible with your Android phone and your iPhone. , something that at the moment does not happen with the Apple Watch that only works with your iPhone and we do not even know if Apple has any change in mind at this point.

The trial program is only available in South Korea, starting today with an end date of September 19. It is compatible with all iPhone models from iPhone 5 to current iPhone 6s / 6s Plus and recent iPhone SE, and at least iOS 8.4 is required or any later version. The connection application with the iPhone works with the Gear S2 Sport and Classic models, and also with the Gear Fit 2. We have already registered, let's see if with a little luck they accept us and we can try the application to tell you our impressions before they release the official application to the public, something that should not be delayed too much considering the end date of the testing program. If you want to try your luck, this is the link to access the program.

Finally, thank goodness the Samsung app will come out, I was waiting for it, I'm going with the filtered app that came out in xda. I am already registered for the official beta. Let's see if we are lucky.
