Samsung Pay only manages to conquer 6.000 users in 12 hours in Spain

Samsung-Pay

While Apple fans continue to wait for the company to launch its mobile payment service in Spain, Samsung took the lead yesterday by officially presenting and launching its counterpart in our country. Although it has not been a launch as big as it could have been, the truth is that there are some lucky ones who can already enjoy the benefits of this type of service on their smartphones.

However, he reports Europe Press, The number of people who would have already activated this service after its presentation would reduce to just over 6 people, a very poor figure and that probably falls short for a brand of the stature of Samsung. However, these seemingly low numbers could have an explanation.

Available, but with restrictions

Although being the first to launch something may give Samsung a short-lived merit, it might have been wise to wait to announce the arrival of this service. Samsung Pay is available in Spain only for CaixaBank and ImaginBank customers, which greatly limits the number of users who have access to this platform. To this must be added that only the S7 and S6 models (and their edge variants) are capable of supporting it, so the fence is tightened even more.

Therefore, it is not surprising that the figures that we are handling in this launch are somewhat low, since the limitations are still many. From the company they assure that they are working to offer support to more banks and models shortly, but wouldn't it be better to have waited and made a larger release? Is it worth committing to a new service just for the "honor" of being the first to offer it?

Personally, when Apple Pay lands here - if the planets align and this happens at some point - I hope that the offer will be broader from the beginning and the number of users that we can make use of it from day one covers a good part of the state banks.

I do not understand these from Samsung.
They have been hammering at the NFC for years and putting it on even the most mediocre, say, low ranges, and now that they finally decide to give it a real and important use, they go and limit it to only the last two models. Normal that does not finish starting!

Well, it seems good to me that they have done it like this .. This is how they test the service and see how the clients respond .. in addition to the fact that the services are not saturated .. and at least they can use it ..
I have an iPhone and hopefully they would start doing that, it would mean that the company is worrying about the payment method coming in. Meanwhile, not even a few arrive.
