SanDisk iXpand, iOS Compatible External Memory Now Offers 128GB

We all already know that the iPhone or iPad do not offer any type of slot to expand their internal memory, forcing us to resort to products such as the SanDisk iXpand.

This memory makes use of the Lightning connector and a proprietary application to access the content that is inside, being able to store all kinds of files. The app is also capable of playing videos and music directly from the SanDisk iXpand, including AVI, MKV or WMV6 containers.

How much capacity does the SanDisk iXpand offer us? To the 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB versions that already existed, now we have to add one new edition with 128GB. The prices for each of the variants will be $ 59,99, $ 79,99, $ 119,99 and U.S. dollar 149,99 as we double the internal capacity.

The uses that we can give to memories of this type are very varied and basically it is a pendrive that in addition to being able to connect it to the laptop, we can also use it with the iPhone or iPad and transfer our files. Another very useful use is to use the SanDisk iXpand as a backup copy of our photos and videos, we never know when disaster may occur and the 128 GB of the new unit promises to cover the needs of those who have bought an iOS device of that same capacity.

As always, price is the main negative point And while there are already 128 GB pendrives for just under 50 euros, the extra that we have to pay for having a Lightning connector is paid too expensive.

I gave my father for his iPad the RAVPower FileHub bought on Amazon for € 30. It seems to me a much better idea, more comfortable since it does not have to be physically connected to the iPhone / iPad / iPod (it can be stored in your pocket or in a briefcase), you can read what is in the SD or USB pen drive ( If I remember correctly, also 2.5 ″ HDDs), but you can also write to do back-ups and it even acts as a backup battery, since it can pass a charge to the iPhone / iPad / iPod. All for a lower price, much more versatile (since we can read all our SD cards or pen drives and also up to 5 iDevices can be connected simultaneously (whether iOS or Android)

    Greetings to all.
