Satechi Quatro Wireless, the only external battery you need

We tested an external battery with which you can recharge all your devices, including an Apple Watch. The Satechi Quatro battery is perfect to take you on any trip and forget about plugs and cables.

Specifications

With a size quite similar to that of the iPhone 13 Pro Max and just a little thicker, this Quatro battery we offers a capacity of 10.000mAh, a wireless charging area compatible with the Qi standard for our iPhone or AirPods, another specific wireless charging area for the Apple Watch with the corresponding charging disk, and two USB sockets, one of which is USB-C Power Delivery 18W and the other USB-A 12W.

What do all these specifications translate into? Well, in addition to recharging an Apple Watch and an iPhone with the corresponding wireless charging areas on the top, we can use its two USB ports to recharge other devices using cables. The USB-C is compatible with fast charging for iPhone, it can even recharge the iPad Pro with its 18W of power. The USB-A is equivalent to the old iPad charger, offering a fairly fast charge as well. The battery can only be recharged via the USB-C port.

Its 10.000mAh allow us to recharge our iPhone about twice, depending on the model, or our iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods. It is therefore perfect for short trips in which we are going to be a night out and we do not want to have to carry chargers. and cables of all kinds. You will only need this battery in your fully recharged suitcase.

Integrated

The battery design is beautiful. Forget the classic black plastic bricks, here we find an accessory that has been cared for down to the last detail. The top and bottom are Mayte plastic in black, with the Satechi logo on the top. A frame with a glossy dark gray finish reminds us a lot of the current steel Apple Watch Series 7, as you can see in the video. It is a design that also reminded me of the iPhone 3GS, my first iPhone a few years ago.

In the frame we have the power button, which we will press once to see the charging status through four LEDs, next to which we have the 18W USB-C and the 12W USB-A. For the battery to function we must press the power button twice, at that moment A blue LED will indicate that it is ready to recharge our devices using the system that suits us best, when wireless charging works it will turn orange. It's a really nice battery, something quite rare in this category of products.

Operation

The Satechi Quatro external battery allows you to recharge up to four devices at the same time, although the manufacturer itself recommends that we only recharge three. Basically it is because the battery power must be shared between all the connected devices. Recharging your iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods at the same time is perfectly possible with this battery, and get full recharges of the three without any problem.

The Qi wireless charging zone has a power of 5W, which means that recharging the iPhone 13 Pro Max will take several hours. If you are going to leave it on the nightstand overnight, this is not a problem, but if you are in a hurry, I recommend that you use the 18W USB-C port, which will recharge it in much less time. This is the advantage of having so many recharging options. The heat generated by the abtería during recharging is the usual one, nothing that attracts attention.

Just a detail, accustomed to the MagSafe system that places the iPhone in the precise logarithm almost automatically, in this battery you must identify the Qi charging zone. Located under the Satechi logo, you must learn to position your iPhone correctly, something that takes just a couple of attempts the first time you use it and then you can do it the first time without any problems.
