Shazam lets you share songs on Instagram Stories

In recent months we are seeing how applications are trying to access the functions of Instagram Stories to integrate with this function of the social network. In the case of Spotify, we can publish the song we are playing as a «sticker». It is a form of symbiosis between both platforms.

Now it's time for Shazam, the application that allows us capture and discover what song is playing at the moment we launch the app. In its new update, Shazam allows integrating the results of the songs shazameadas on Instagram Stories so that followers can access the song.

Post the songs captured with Shazam on Instagram Stories

In September the purchase of Shazam by Apple was completed. Since then there have been few updates to the app to this day. The version 12.3 of the application allows share 'shazamed' content with Shazam in the Instagram Stories of Mark Zuckerberg's social network. It works in a similar way to how Spotify does to publish songs in Instagram stories.

It is a good way not only to show the music we listen to in our Instagram feed, but also for users outside of applications such as Shazam, to install said applications on their terminals. To share a Shazam song on your Instagram stories you will have to do the following:

  • Enter «My Shazam» and choose a song
  • Click on the three vertical buttons at the top right of the song cover
  • Next, click on «Share» and then on «Instagram Stories»
  • You will be asked for permission to open Instagram, when you accept, you will access the edit of the Instagram story with the image of your published Shazam song

The design of these Stories is quite simple. On the one hand, the cover of the shared song is published, and below it appears the number of captures of this song that has been made in the application. We can also store this song by clicking on "Open in Shazam" in the upper left, once it is published on Instagram.
