Silver allows you to use Swift to develop apps on Android and Windows Phone

It was precisely at this year's WWDC event when Apple, among the many new things it showed us, wanted to tell us what would be its new programming language that would allow the development of applications for iOS. This language is exclusive to the company, but as it almost always happens, there are third parties who know how to take advantage of everything, and today we want to talk to you about what they propose to us in Silver compared to the Cupertino Swift.

In this case, the presentation could involve major changes within the world of application development and above all, for developers who intend to create multiplatform tools, that is, generate apps that are capable of running on both operating systems. Silver's proposal is simple. What this program does is precisely allow you to use Swift as a development language also on Android and Windows Phone. And although the systems are different from each other, and even more so that certain changes have to be applied, the work is much easier.

It is true that not everything is perfect, but the truth is that the disadvantages that it has Silver by allowing the use of Swift for development outside the iOS operating system it compensates with the advantages it has. Among the former, it should be noted that it does not include support for Cocoa Touch and therefore does not give the opportunity to use the write-once-run-anywhere function. Still, I think app developers will appreciate this good invention that certainly makes life easier for them, although I don't think Apple finds it so funny.

For now, about Silver we have been told that the first Official version for public download will be available shortly through the website of RemObjects. We will have to be attentive to what they bring us, but it seems to me that the thing, even before being available, is already giving a lot to talk about and for the better.
