Skype for iPhone has been updated to version 4.9 to add a functionality that they announced a few days ago: possibility to send video messages for free. The only condition that these messages must meet is that they have a maximum duration of three minutes.
To send video messages to your contacts just follow the instructions below:
- Select a contact
- Click on the video message button
- Start recording by pressing the central red button
- If we are not happy with the result, we can repeat the recording before sending it to its recipient.
- If we like the video, we can add a title and an additional description.
All the videos we send they will receive them even if they are not connected to Skype. The next time they log into the video calling service they will see the recording we have sent them. Keep in mind that this new video messaging service is compatible with iOS, Android, Windows 8, OS X and Blackberry.
In addition to adding video messages, Skype for iPhone has improved the stability and quality of calls, photos are shared more reliably, and finally, bugs have been fixed and overall app stability improved.
As always, you can download the latest version of Skype for iPhone by clicking on the following link:
More information – Skype now allows us to send video messages to whoever we want
The only bad thing is that it crashes from ios 7 beta 2
When do they update the app?
I get 19 free video messages left and if I want more I have to be a premium skype user… =)
