Having admitted that some of the iPad Pros of 2018 they come folded, even already inside the box, now it seems that there is another problem with the 2017 iPad Pro models and their displays.
It seems that some iPad Pro from 2017, both 10,5 and 12,9 inches, are showing brighter areas of the screen. Like a bright spot.
We will have noticed the effect of a bright spot on the screen sometime. Is typical when putting your finger on a screenBut if the pressure subsides, the effect wears off.
In addition, changes in screen brightness can be due to many causes. The angle of view can make us see one area brighter than another. Or, for example, an area dirty from having put your finger appears darker.
However, the bright spot of these cases remains and those affected assure that they have not hit it or have exerted excessive pressure on the area.
On the other hand, the affected area is usually the same, about two inches from the Home button and with a diameter of just over two inches. Even in Macrumors They have seen that one of their 10,5-inch iPad Pro has the same fault that we can see in the image.
If your iPad is still under warranty and has this fault, feel free to go to Apple and request a replacement device. Remember that if you did not buy it from Apple, the second year of warranty must go to the place where you purchased it, unless you have Apple Care for the iPad.
For our part, The iPad Pro of 2017 that we have looked at, none have these spots shiny or anything like that.
Now It only remains to be seen if Apple says something about it and hope that it does not happen in the new models of this year that is about to end.
It happened to me exactly the same. I bought one the same day it was launched and about to fulfill the Apple guarantee, that area was differentiated with a different brightness than the rest of the screen. They replaced it with another in which a week of use, a line of purple pixels appeared that crossed the screen vertically. Finally it was replaced by a third unit, the one I have now that at the moment 0 problems. I have to say that the previous two have not taken any hit and the use is similar to what I have had with other devices in the house.
I have an iPadPro from June 2017 and it has exactly this problem: a small bright area about 5cm above the Home button.
I thought it had been something of mine but it has never been hit. I bought it online from Apple, I will open an incident.
Thanks for the warning!
I claimed this fault under warranty (less than 2 years) and they just sent me the same model, a replacement and it looks new. With the serial number I see that it is manufactured in November 2018
Sorry I did not put the model: iPad Pro 10,5 ″
If Apple has something good within the bad experience as a user affected by this type of problem, it is that it responds, and it always does it well. At the moment, mine, nothing! Thanks!
You're right
I have an iPad Pro 10.5 with that problem and I have a guarantee until June 2020, they think they can exchange it for a new one
You don't lose anything trying. I took mine today for that same problem. On Friday I have an answer.
I have a 3-inch iPad Air 10.5, bought on June 18, 2020, this same failure appeared above the home button several months ago, I did not pay much attention to it, however I noticed that the image was increasing a little, so it does A few days I took it to the store where I bought it, it should be noted that there was only 19 days left until the end of the warranty period, they received the product without problem to be replaced with a new one. That's the great thing about Apple products. The guarantee is the best
