Apple Music was integrated into the Music app of our devices and iTunes, some apps already known, but not exactly loved by all.
To give users freedom, Apple created MusicKit, an API that allowed developers to access Apple Music content (always through a subscription, of course).
Now, Tanmay Sonawane, has created Soor, an alternative Apple Music player for the iPhone with interesting news and improvements over the Music app.
Soor focuses on one-handed and gesture functionality and aesthetics, taken care of in all aspects, as is clear in its promotional video.
Soor's app allows us to put a dark mode (something very demanded by some Apple Music users) and a completely black mode, in addition to the well-known clear theme that we already see in the Music app.
Its other great feature are gestures, which allow us to use the entire app with one hand. For example, by sliding our finger down from any screen, we can open the search bar and other menus, a very novel and useful gesture.
Although one of the most interesting novelties that I have seen is the Drag & Drop system to drag one or several songs to add them to a list, the play queue, etc.
It also assures us that we are working with Musixmatch to add the lyrics of the songs and be able to read the lyrics interactively of the songs in the app.
Soor's app is now available on the App Store at a price of € 10,99 no more payments, subscriptions or in-app purchases, although you must remember that you have to have an active Apple Music subscription to enjoy the Soor player.
In return, remember also that the Apple Music API doesn't allow developers to do such simple things as renaming a list playlist, remove songs from a playlist, etc.
