With Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip and Motorola RAZR on the market, many are dreaming of a foldable iPhone. We have found in ConceptsiPhone, a YouTube channel where different concepts of Apple devices are shown, a spectacular rendering of a "dream" iPhone 12 Flip.
There are very interesting details in this concept. They have placed a front camera inside the display to allow for a notch-free look and bezel. And the TrueDepth camera? It has a small exterior screen and a magnificent flexible interior screen to be able to fold.
Very few manufacturers have thrown themselves into the pool of folding mobiles. It is a very risky bet. Somewhat fragile and very expensive devices. We will have to wait a while to see if this idea of a folding mobile "creeps in" among consumers or not.
The development of this technology may be a failure. Make it a very ephemeral fashion that do not root among users. Other ideas come to mind that did not catch on among consumers, such as curved televisions, or 3D glasses to watch television.
Perhaps Apple already has a folding iPhone prototype, and is waiting to see how users react to models from other manufacturers that have already launched them on the market, to see whether to continue with said prototype on the table or store it in a drawer in the Cupertino offices. For now, we will have to settle for concepts like this.
