SteelSeries launches the Nimbus White, a limited edition only available in the Apple Store

The launch of the fourth generation Apple TV has led to the rebirth of bluetooth controllers, controllers that allow us to enjoy our favorite games directly on the big screen of our home as if it were a console. Currently on the market we can find a large number of this type of devices, but that really offer us a value for money, we can count them on the fingers of one hand. SteelSeries, which we have already talked about on previous occasions, has specialized in this type of controllers and has just launched a special edition called Nimbus White, a controller that not only allows us to enjoy games with the Apple TV, but also allows us do it with our Mac games or iOS-based devices.

In this special edition, where the only thing that varies is its color, the Nimbus White is compatible with more than 2.000 games compatible with Apple TV in addition to allowing us to control Apple TV. The Nimbus White battery allows us to enjoy our favorite games for 40 hours And like the black model, it charges through the Lightning connection. The Bluetooth version it uses is 4.1, hence the consumption is so tight and allows us to play a large number of hours without having to charge it.

SteelSeries Nimbus models are compatible with the iPad third  XNUMXth generation onwards, with the XNUMXth and XNUMXth generation iPod, with the iPhone 4s 5 en adelante y únicamente con el Apple TV de cuarta generación. El Nimbus White de SteelSeries este disponible a través de la página web de Apple y en la Apple Store por 59,95 dólares, el mimo precio del modelo negro, pero a diferencia de este, el blanco It can only be purchased through Apple stores, either physical or the online store.

Hi Ignacio, the Nimbus SteelSeries is not compatible with the third generation iPad, nor with the iPhone 4s, I have the Nimbus, the iPad 3 with iOS 8.4 (cannot be paired with Bluetooth), an iPhone 4s with iOS 8.4 (no Bluetooth pairing succeeds) and an iPhone 4s running iOS 9.3.3 (if it manages to pair with Bluetooth, but it doesn't work with games), and I haven't been able to get the Nimbus to work with any games on either of them. But the control works great on my Apple TV 4, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s and iPhone 7. On the Apple Store page (http://www.apple.com/shop/product/HJ162ZM/A/steelseries-nimbus-wireless-gaming-controller) it is mentioned that it is compatible with the iPhone 4s but it is not, and that it is also compatible with the iPad with retina display, but it actually confuses the user because both the 7rd and XNUMXth generation iPads were advertised as iPad with retina screen and it seems that they are referring to the fourth generation iPad, I think they wanted to erase the third generation iPad from the map, as you will remember, it was only the protagonist of Apple tablets for XNUMX months before the iPad was announced fourth generation. But if we go to the manufacturer's page ( https://steelseries.com/gaming-controllers/nimbus ) we can verify that it mentions that it is compatible with the iPad from the fourth generation onwards, and with the iPhone 5 onwards. I still do not understand why it does not work with the iPhone 4s and the iPad 3, if and the iPad 4 and the iPhone 5 have the same version of bluetooth, which is 4.0. Similarly, SteelSeries mentions that the Nimbus is compatible with all iPad mini, and iPad mini from the first to the third generation, have Bluetooth 4.0. Due to this great doubt, I raised a support ticket with the guys from SteelSeries and as soon as I receive a response, I will return to this post to tell you.

    Regards!
