On a day like today: Steve Jobs presents the iPhone 4

anniversary-iphone-4

It is one of the most beautiful and peculiar telephones in history. He brought the revolution to the design of telephony, from that day on, it was necessary that smartphones were not only big, but also beautiful. The iPhone 4 was made up of the highest quality materials, perfectly assembled, giving the impression that we not only had a phone, we had a jewel, an accessory. It was on June 7, 2010 when Steve Jobs presented the iPhone 4 during WWDC, one of his great presentations (if it had any bad ones), a device really ahead of the time in terms of design.

When talking about the iPhone 4, it is easy to remember antenna problems and other bugs. Not to mention, that its twin brother, the iPhone 4s, remarkably surpassed it in terms of hardware, in fact, it is not uncommon to still see the occasional fully active iPhone 4s. With the arrival of the iPhone 4, Steve Jobs introduced more than just a phone, presented a sign of identity, a character. Since then, at least the front of the iPhone has not changed at all, the rounded corners were here to stay, and they are still there. We leave you the short of the presentation of the iPhone 4, from the hands of the Cupertino guru, Steve Jobs.

The reality is that you have enough knowledge of English to understand Steve Jobs's involvement with the presentation of the device. Every Apple presentation in the Steve Jobs era seemed at least a myth, and that of the iPhone 4 was not going to be less. As a detail, this presentation was full of developers, on other occasions, presentations are made only to the press and Apple employees. The iPhone 4 made a clear before and after in the design of telephony, in fact, it is a model that we all miss.

What's new? Iphone 4

The iPhone 4 was launched alongside the iPad, the same year. It was then, the establishment of the brotherhood between iOS devices, the integration between all was the key, and today it has been taken to the extreme. But not only that, at the software level, we also find the presentation of Face Time, Apple's VoIP calling and video-calling system, available between devices from the Cupertino company. Also, the camera received a good face lift, the 5 Mpx would accompany Apple for a long time, and the LED flash was here to stay. The front camera, however, had VGA quality.

Retina screens also arrived, a resolution with four times more pixels than the iPhone 3Gs, which is said soon, a screen that fell in love with the market for a long time, which they now continue to maintain, despite the fact that some ask their passage to OLED out loud . However, something did not change, Apple did not intend to abandon 3,5 inches, Steve Jobs warned that it was the optimal size to use such a device, although before leaving us, he presented a four-inch device. We don't know what he would have thought of the 6-inch iPhone 4,7.

At the same time, the race for thinness began at Apple, 24 percent thinner than 3Gs. However, the processor and RAM were not up to par with the retina display, creating the classic myth of short battery life in iPhones, a phenomenon that will be wonderfully solved in the future. It is clear that the iPhone 4 has been one of the most mythical and relevant presentations of the Apple era in telephony Did you have an iPhone 4 or do you still have it? Tell us about your experience with it, and above all, if it was worth your purchase.

The iPhone 4 was the last iPhone I had, for a variety of reasons. But I keep a very good memory of him: I bought it shortly after leaving with an offer from Vodafone that at that time was not bad, and I put up with it until about three years ago or a little less, when he was already more than surpassed by his brothers greater. My previous phone was an American iPhone 2G that I fell in love with as soon as I saw it advertised on a newscast, in the hand of Steve Jobs, and things wanted that some relatives who were touring the USA could bring it to me; before that, several Motorola that were not smartphones but had their camera and other pijaditas, and before those several silly Alcatochos that only served to call and send SMS XDDD

I'm going around the bush! I suffered from antennagate (having talked about it, although not as exaggerated as some painted it), I was one of those who received a free cover from Apple because of that problem (an original bumper, which suited him like a glove) I had it with and Without jailbreak, he accompanied me on long trips and daily commutes like a champion and I think it was the latter that killed him: I don't know if it was a fault of the model itself, but two daily trips for an hour or so each in RENFE Cercanías with Tunnel areas and hedge constantly coming and going, literally fried it. It started out with white screens and ended up not starting at all. In the Apple Store they sold me a replacement one the same because it was no longer under warranty, the joke did not come cheap but it seemed like a good idea ... big mistake: seven or eight months later, when it was out of the warranty of those that Apple sells As a replacement, exactly the same thing happened to him and I ended up assuming that it was a matter of the killer train effect and its constant coverage drops.

When it happened I was no longer there for the work of buying another iPhone. It didn't help that I was (and I am) a fan of the jailbreak and its possibilities because it came from that American 2G iPhone that needed it to work in Spain, and as it was increasingly difficult to get the jailbreak and Apple was launching the less widely spaced versions of iOS. In time, they finally convinced me to go "to the other side", the one with the green android (although I did well and went for a Nexus 5 that still lasts for me), and that's where my Apple experience ended. I miss the beauty of the model, things and details of iOS that Android does not have ... but I do not miss its proprietary connector or the dependence on iTunes for what things or the closure of the operating system. It is what it is, I am not going to start any campaign or criticize acidly, everyone assembles their pots as they want and Apple does it that way, and they do not hide either, so whoever does not like it as I always say, there are thousands of other options.

Anyway, I suppose I am one of those people who have been on both sides "of the war" and cannot come to you with interested battles from either side. I will always keep the iPhone 4 in my memory, just like when I retire the Nexus 5 that I now have. What will come next, will be seen 🙂

Completely in accordance with the article. The
iPhone 4 marked a myth as far as the design of phones is concerned, elegant, slim, perfect finishes and a screen superior to the competition at the time was what many people fell in love with (myself included) and I have this beautiful object of desire phone. Since then I use iPhone but since the departure of the great Steve we must be honest that Apple has fallen short in terms of innovation, the iPhone continues to lack it. Hopefully in the not too distant future Apple will once again have even 50% of the innovation it had with Steve and they will continue to show us truly Revolutionary products such as this iPhone.
