Confinement has made users begin to discover new ways to communicate. An example of this was the growth of apps like Zoom or WebEx during the first months that we were confined by COVID-19. However, not only did the video calls resurface from the ashes, but Telegram began to increase its users. It is well known that the team behind this messaging service takes great care of its updates and today we can welcome a new one with open arms. It's about a new video editor integrated in the app and improvements related to animated stickers in images and new functionalities in folders.
Edit the videos within Telegram before sending them
Telegram announced a month ago that they were developing video calls and that they would arrive before the end of the year. Following this thread, the application development team releases a new update while working on "you-know-what," most likely referring to the video calls we'll see in the coming months.
However, this new update is the version 6.2 and includes great news that will make any user happy you are constantly using Telegram as your default messaging app. We are going to analyze the main characteristics point by point:
- Multimedia editor: Several updates ago a powerful image editor was included with which to outline them before sending them. However, we still didn't know anything about the videos. A new video editor has been included in this version. With it we can improve the quality of the film, adjust basic editing parameters and add, as expected, drawings, texts or stickers. In addition, the image editor has been improved, being able to add animated stickers.
- The GIFs: This content continues to be central to the conversations we have on a daily basis. That is why Telegram dedicates part of its new update to it. It has modified the GIFs section within the application keyboard by categorizing GIFs by emotions (using emojis) and has added a section of most popular gifs at the time. Also, you can save certain GIFs as your favorites to avoid looking for them every time you want to send it.
- Folders: the folders were added an update ago and it's a good way to keep in-app chats in order. In version 6.2, Telegram allows you to quickly add a chat to a folder (or delete it) by holding down the chat and clicking on "Add to folder".
