Apple's HDMI output adapter is also compatible with iPhone 4

During the keynote that took place on Wednesday, Steve Jobs presented the «Digital AV Adapter» accessory that allows you to add an HDMI output to the iPad 2 to connect the tablet to our LCD television with a resolution of 1080p.

Although nothing was mentioned during the conference, this accessory seems to also work without problems on an iPhone 4 and a first generation iPad, although in this case the resolution of the image is reduced to 720p.

«Watch slideshows and movies on the big screen in up to 720p by connecting your iPad, iPhone 4, or iPod touch (4th generation) to an HDTV or HDMI-compatible display»

In the absence of knowing the price in Europe, Apple's Digital AV Adapter is priced at $ 39.

if it works for an ipad 1G and an iphone 4G… it should, in theory (I suppose), work on an ipod touch 4G?… who dares to answer me

But on the iPhone 4 you could only play slides and videos, while on the iPad 2 you could even broadcast the desktop. Big difference

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think there was already an unofficial cable to do it with the ipad 1.
and they also sold it on various sites.
    Happy weekend.

My question is if, just as you can broadcast video to an HD TV, it is if you could see the ps2 on the screen of the iPad 3. Instead of video output, it would be input. It would be great too. Maybe not but with a tweek from cydia if we can.
    Regards!!!

As Javier says above, with the iPhone 4 and iPad 1 the cable is only used to view your photos and videos. On the other hand, with the iPad 2 you can see EVERYTHING you do on the screen, games, apps, the internet… EVERYTHING. It is a BIG difference, because to see videos and photos there were cables before ...

I have a problem, I bought this accessory but when I connected my iPad 2 with the television it asked me to update to the most recent version (for obvious reasons I don't want to do it), someone can help me if there is a tweek or something like that.
