If you have a SmartTV connected to your home network, it is very likely that you will soon be able to control it from your Apple Watch. Televisions like those of Samsung among others, have their pertinent application to make iPhone a remote control, a feature that will be transferred to the apple smart watch.
At the moment, SamMote is the first that has signed up for this possibility but it will not be the only one. Thanks to the latest update of this app, owners of a Samsung SmartTV will be able to control it from the Apple Watch, allowing you to change the channel, raise or lower the volume or navigate through the different menus.
Obviously, when working under WiFi connectivity, we have a much higher degree of freedom and we can turn off the television even from other rooms, something that is physically impossible with the IRDA-based remote control.
The only requirement necessary to be able to use SamMote with our Samsung television is that it manufactured after 2011. If you comply, you can download it now and even if you don't have the Apple Watch, you can do the same from the iPhone or iPad.
What is clear is that thanks to the Apple watch, the need to look for the remote control is over because we do not know where we have left it.
