The screens of Apple devices have improved a lot in recent years, The controversies about the use of LCD panels are dissipating as the Cupertino firm is implementing AMOLED panels in its catalog, something that began with the Apple Watch and has extended to the iPhone range.
The Apple Watch Series 4 has been awarded the "Screen of the Year" award recently, however, we must remember that Apple's AMOLED displays are manufactured by Samsung, Why then has it become such a good screen if Samsung could mount it on their devices?
The award has been granted by the Society of Information Display (ISD), these have been the words that have been dedicated to the award-winning panel:
Keeping the original design, the fourth generation of the Apple Watch has been redefined, combining new hardware and software in a uniform and unique way. The screen is now 30% larger and despite all the improvements, the chassis of the device is now thinner. The LTPO technology used by Apple in this display improves performance and power consumption, helping users to enjoy a day of use on a single charge.
The 15 Display Industry Awards will be held on May 2019, as part of the event Display Week to be held in the United States of America. We definitely all know that the Apple Watch screen, as with the iPhone, offers very high quality results. Nevertheless, Samsung has a lot to say about it, basically because it is the manufacturer, no matter how much the adjustment occurs later through software in the Cupertino offices, therefore, morally it is a prize shared between two companies condemned to compete, but to constantly collaborate in their productions, and that is good… right?
