The Dev Team decrypts the firmware keys of the new Apple TV

We go by parts: Apple has published on its page the new firmware of the AppleTV, You can download it here. As you can see it is a .ipsw, so it remains confirmed what we already knew, the new Apple device also carry an iOS, which means that it can be jailbroken.

Well the Dev Team have used SHAtter, the latest universal exploit discovered by pod2g, to decrypt the keys of this firmware:

31c700a852f1877c88efc05bc5c63e8c7f081c4cb28d024ed7f9b0dbc98c7e1406e499c6

If you know how to decrypt with vfdecrypt you can do it and you will get a .dmg image

What does this mean? it means that the new Apple TV will have its own jailbreak before expected.

And what use will the Jailb ...? The only thing I can think of is to pass video to the apple tv and watch them (I don't know if it can be native because I have never used it or I know exactly what the tv app is that is not available here)
    .
Because even if they have the jailb they won't be able to crack * pirate * the series or the store (it could be done if someone did it and upload them like on the iphone)

To me, Apple TV would seem like a DPM solution if with the Jailbreak MKV and other 1080P could be played through the Network of another computer where the videos are stored, so you could have the PC with everything in one room and the Apple TV to the TV in the living room instead of walking with an HTPC, is that the problem that I see with the MacMini is that it is excessively expensive ... And for those of us who already have PC with Win, such a solution would be perfect but I think that the Apple TV is not I would have the power to reproduce 1080P over the Network (hopefully)

I think it will be something difficult for them since AppleTV is more than everything for streaming content and movie rentals, what can they do with jailbreak on that device? Also, I don't think it even has a hard drive like the previous one. Maybe they'll jailbreak you just for fun.

Anyone know if they will update the old Apple TV with the new firmware ?? I say this because there are many of us who have bought it less than a year ago ... and it seems that now it will no longer be compatible with many new functions for the iPhone or iPad, such as Airplay !!! GRRRRR !!! ;-(

It's a bitch, but Apple said no, it wasn't going to be updated because having a hard drive was going to be a source of piracy ...
