The dispute between Apple and the FBI could end on Apple's part if they do what they have planned: encrypt the backup copies and all the data on the devices in a way that even they could not access the information themselves. With this, the company intends to make the system more secure and, on the other hand, not have any responsibility in cases like San Bernardino, since they could not access the information even if they wanted to. Yesterday the last step that Apple has taken to achieve this level of security was announced and it did so by hiring the creator of Signal, safest messaging app out there.
The developer is called Frederic Jacobs and his application is so secure that Edward Snowden He says he uses it every day. As usual, Apple has not commented on the matter, but Jacobs did send a tweet yesterday in which he clearly says that he will work at Apple from this summer (so his work will no longer be reflected in iOS 10).

Jacobs has spent the last two and a half years as a security engineer at Signal-creator, Open Whispers Systems, working on end-to-end encryption for the Signal app for iOS. His work at Apple has not been disclosed, but you don't have to be a lynx to know that it will be related to security. With the news which claims that Apple wants to make its systems impossible to hack, most likely they use Jacobs' knowledge for this purpose. We may have news of the work of the developer of the most secure messaging application that already exists in iOS 11, an operating system that will be presented at WWDC in 2017.
At least in my region, nobody knows about this app. I installed it and I have no contacts to use it. I thought it was a Hangouts style, but no.
