The Galaxy S8 will move the fingerprint reader: what will Apple do?

This year is seen as a very special one for Apple, we all know it, as it is the tenth anniversary of the launch of the iPhone. This makes about the version of your smartphone that is released this year many and very high expectations fall, something that will surely be elevated with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 at the end of March or beginning of April.

The Korean company wants to wow the public with the new smartphone they are preparing, partly to set the bar high for the Apple event in September and partly so that we can forget about the recent problem related to the batteries of the Galaxy Note 8. So much so, that this year they will not be presented within the framework of the Mobile World Congress, but will hold their own event for this purpose.

A few weeks ago we saw a video filtering the possible appearance of the Galaxy S8, accompanied by some images, but none of them showed the back of it. So speculation began what would happen to the fingerprint sensor of the Galaxy S8: if it would be integrated into the screen or if its location would go to the back of the terminal. New leaks confirm today that, as expected, the reader will be next to the device's camera. This addresses the impossibility of putting it on the front due to frames that have been reduced to a minimum.

The issue regarding the screen bezels has haunted Apple for at least the last three years, approximately since the launch of the Plus model. This year we aspire to see a total redesign of the new smartphone presented by Apple but what will happen to the fingerprint reader? Personally, I value very positively that it is on the front, allowing easier and faster access. Will they think the same of Apple?

It seems unlikely that we will see an iPhone with the fingerprint reader incorporated directly on the screen (yet), so the options are to keep it - along with the frame - or pass it to the back in an act that may not be quite right received.

apple thinks in the long term, I'm sure they are working to incorporate it on the front of the screen, meanwhile there we have the start button, if they think the same as samgung, apple was done the same with the 7, apple differs by experience user I'm sure they will adapt the sensor under the screen sooner or later

Well, Apple will do absolutely nothing.

Its appeal is precisely to create, not to follow.

Well, very simple .. a screen without borders as rumored for a year, tenth anniversary = 100% innovation or goodbye, Apple released its 7 Plus this previous year with the same design because according to rumors / news they did not have enough suppliers to oled screens etc etc, I just hope it is a totally different design and that the Touch ID incorporates it into the screen.

Apple can not afford to get something "equal" because they are already losing sales of their 7 plus and it will be the "end" of their iPhone .. as they intend to give the "same" clearer water ...

I would say that the one that Samsung released and that it was an "explosive" failure was the Galaxy Note 7, not the 8….

The best thing, as always, is not to make too many expectations.

They have been commenting on the iPhone without borders for a few more years and look where the plus models of the latest iPhone have huge edges.

Personally I would like to see this on the following iPhone:
    - Very reduced frames and get more screen.
    - That the colors of the front and back match (the pink model that is pink in front also and not white. And the same with gold.).
    - Reduction of external buttons (integrate the volume and Touch ID in the interface?).
    - Rear camera does not protrude.
    - Eliminate the back bands and find another solution for reception.
