The HomePod is already capable of answering 25% more than at the beginning of the year

In the last month we are really seeing the great competition that exists in the sector of smart speakers. Within this sector, two aspects prevail. First, the virtual assistant, that it has to be adapted to the user's needs; while secondly, all the sound engineering you have to have a good smart speaker. By varying these two aspects, we enter the market, being able to choose between different models.

The latest study carried out on the HomePod against the rest of its competitors, we see that it is still far surpassed by the GoogleHome, and closely followed by Alexa. Nevertheless, the HomePod is able to answer about 80% of the questions what we do.

Apple works on improving Siri on the HomePod

I emphasize that although in this article I refer to the fact that it is the HomePod who solves the questions, in itself it is Siri, the virtual assistant who does it. The study was based on 800 questions that were made to the four most popular speakers of the moment with their respective assistants: Google Assistant, Siri, Alexa and Cortana. These questions were divided into 5 large blocks: premises / shops, commerce / requests, navigation, information and commands.

The results show a tendency to think that the best assistant is Google Assistant Due to the results obtained: he understood 100% of the questions asked and answered almost 88% correctly. While the HomePod (Siri) managed to answer the 74.6% of the questions of which 99.6% had understood. Behind it is Alexa, who, having understood 99% of the questions, answered 72.5% correctly.

If we analyze the comparative table of the different blocks of questions, we see that Google Assistant won in all of them, except in the block of questions. Commands, whose winner was the HomePod with 85% correct questions. What is striking about the HomePod is that in el block of shops it remained below average, answering only 65% of the questions correctly.

Although with these data we give the Google Assistant a winner, we have to do a holistic view of the results. This same study was conducted in December of last year, and the HomePod only answered 52% of the questions correctly. A year later, the hit rate has exceeded that figure and stands at 74%.
