The iPhone 6 could be a 5-inch phablet

iPhone 6

Great news for those who envy the huge smartphones of the competition, the so-called "phablets": Apple could launch its iPhone 6 next year with a 5-inch screen, and a screen resolution of 1920 × 1080, with a pixel density of 440ppi. This is at least what the magazine "Mac Fan" assures, news echoed by the well-known Japanese page Macotakara, which has already proven to be reliable with other previously published rumors. But the news is not in this, since the same source assures that Apple intends that the iPhone 6, despite its screen size, can be operated with one hand, something that the company has highlighted as essential when it comes to design a smartphone.

A little over a year ago, when Apple launched the iPhone 5, criticism about the elongated design of the new smartphone was harsh, so much so that Apple launched the advertisement that you can see just above these lines. The design of the iPhone 5 is specifically designed to be able to operate the terminal with one hand, something that is impossible in most larger terminals. It may sound absurd to many, but those who are iPhone users, look to see how many times they use their device with one hand. You don't really realize something like that until you have it, and several people who have switched to a larger smartphone have been able to confirm it for me.

How is Apple going to achieve that despite considerably increasing the size of the screen, it can still be used with one hand? There is only one possible solution: increase the screen without hardly increasing the size of the device, that is, removing frames, and making the screen reach to the edges of the device. This is still a risky decision, as any fall would almost certainly cause the screen to break.

I've never seen anyone use an iPhone with one hand. It can slip on you, it is also super uncomfortable, the one with the thumb you spawn a lot. Welcome the new size. How about orthodox apple trees?

Well, you should see me and that is the reason why I have not changed hands ... I like to handle my mobile with one hand, if I want to use both, I open the backpack and use my ipad which is the same as a phablet ...

I use one hand very occasionally (and I have a 4S) ... I use WhatsApp a lot, and using it with one hand is an ordeal).

I have never dropped it, and I use it with one hand, LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE, and without covers or anything. To all this, having an iPhone and having to suffer in case it falls and having to repair it is very crappy! It's like buying a car and not having money if it breaks down one day.

I think it's great that they make a bigger iPhone, if it's true .., I think it will be like that, and not be 1920 x 1080 .. Surely it will be the equivalent with 16/9 format.
Let's hope the rumors tell us 😀

I think that no matter how much they reduce the edges by 5 inches, it is impossible to handle them with one hand unless you adapt the software to concentrate most of the actions when handling an app in the lower right part of the screen ...

I always read that cliché about rumors. I have been reading this blog for years and it is the first time that I see this page being cited. But you always have to put that (unnecessary) tag.
I dream of a 4.7-inch iphone and a little wider.

Do you really consider a 5-inch device to be a phablet?
It is not good to be so stubborn with a brand and not look to the sides.
I think that ios has many advantages over the competition, but Apple devices are increasingly moving away from Jobs' innovative dream.

People in your article mention that a problem can be the falls, but if you previously noticed when your screen fell, you still had to change the entire iphone screen, that is, although now the iphone 5 I have a screen of less than 5 inches, it looks commode because the front looks like a screen.

A larger screen is what the iPhone needs… !! to wait impatiently. !!

Already. They also said that the 5c would be cheap ...

I very much doubt that 6 is so big, if maybe bigger but not like this

Now do not all the defenders of the 4 inches come out ????? I am looking forward to this screen increase in the next iPhone 6

It would be spectacular to have a 5,7 ′ iphone, but until I see it in my hands I will not believe it, lately Apple disappoints me a lot, in its line as always, half measures and with stupid excuses like that of using a smartphone with one hand, let them sell it to another.

Totally agree, I have used other devices with larger inches than the iPhone 5 and the truth is that it is very uncomfortable to handle it with one hand, unless you have the hand of the hulk xD

I am not interested in a Smartphone larger than 4 inches. I would not like to be forced to use a Pen Stylus to have a better experience with the iPhone 6. That is exactly what happens with the Galaxy Note 3. For larger screens I prefer the iPad Mini 2 or the iPad Air!

totally agree. In my case I want a smartphone not a phablet. Where are we going to stop, breaking every philosophy that iPhones have always had, that is, they will want bigger screens, more resolution and then they will complain that the battery lasts little. Anyway ... for color tastes

I remind you that the S Pen of the Galaxy Note 3 is not an obligation to use, it is a PLEASURE! You have more precision than with your thumb covering the entire mini-screen of your iPhone, even in photo editor mode it works great, also when you bring the S Pen closer to the screen you can see a pointer like a computer mouse that helps you preview drop-down menus on web pages in full mode (desktop), so you lose less details and a better web browsing experience. That is precisely why I bought the Note 3, if the S Pen bothered me I would have opted for the Galaxy s4.
I love the Phablet world, I can use my TV as a Smartphone and I am happy with life 😀

because by putting a touch panel behind the device, the upper part of the screen could be operated with the index finger. I've always had that idea. it would be easy to implement I think

Good morning to all of you, I would like an iPhone in two versions, one with a 5-inch screen and the traditional one

I would not like a 5-inch iPhone, it would lose all its essence, if I added more technology such as a projector, Face Time compatibility with other devices, an integral control by voice of the phone, simplify the way of adding ringtones (because they think that most IPhones sound the same?), release bluetooth compatibility with other devices, etc.
