The iPhone 6 screen could have a resolution of 1704 × 960 pixels

Resolution iPhone 6

There is much talk in the last days of the iPhone 6 and its possible specifications. One of the strongest rumors indicates that this generation that is coming will be accompanied by an increase in the size of the screen, betting on two panels of 4,7 inches and 5,5 inches respectively.

This increase in the size of the panel will also lead to a modification in its resolution, something that is already shaking some developers who will have to adapt their application to a new resolution. Some media speculate that the resolution that the screen of the two variants of the iPhone 6 will have will be 1704 x 960 pixels, something that will allow to maintain the current 16: 9 aspect ratio and, in turn, increase the density of pixels per inch significantly.

If we ignore this rumor, the iPhone 6 with a 4,7-inch screen will have a 416 dpi density while the 5,5-inch version will drop that figure down to a respectable 356 dpi.

Why think of a resolution as strange as 1704 x 960 pixels? The explanation starts from the resolution 568 x 320 pixels, which is what we obtain if we divide the resolution of the iPhone 5 / 5s (1136 x 640 px) by two and the one that the original iPhone would have had if its screen had been four inches. Now we multiply that base resolution by three and we already have that panel of 1704 x 960 pixels.

The approach of this theory makes a lot of sense and the result would not only allow us to enjoy greater definition but we would also have an iOS interface capable of show more content.

Ultimately, if Apple increases the screen size of the iPhone 6, it will have to increase resolution in both directions to keep the current aspect ratio.

I think if the rumors of a larger screen are true, it would be a disgusting copy of Samsung's policy on screen sizes. I prefer it to stay like this but with higher resolution! Or a new screen much better than the Retina Display, which allows us much better resolution!
