The iPhone 8 is the best-selling smartphone, followed by the Galaxy S9 + and the iPhone X

According to the latest data from Counterpoint Research, Apple has become the manufacturer that has sold the most phones during the month of May, being The iPhone 8 the best-selling model along with the Samsung Galaxy S9 +. In third position we find the iPhone X. During the month of April, Samsung with its Galaxy S9 + terminal topped this ranking.

However, and apparently for very little, in the month of May, the iPhone 8 has been in first position, both for 2,4% of sales in the market. It is striking that on iOS the best-selling model is the 4,7-inch while in Android it is the 6,2-inch model.

In fourth position, we find the Xiaomi Redmi 5A, followed by the iPhone 8 Plus and in sixth position, we find the Samsung Galaxy S9, the smallest model in the Galaxy range, although it offers us a 5,8-inch screen without side frames. In seventh position, we find the Huawei P20 Lite, followed by the Vivo X11, Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus and the Oppo A83.

Counterpoint Research attributes the success of the iPhone 8 to the new announcements that the company published a few weeks ago within the campaign How to shoot on iPhone, a campaign designed to offer users how to get the most out of the technology that Apple offers us on their devices. This campaign has motivated Apple devices to attract more attention in Europe and not in the United States, where sales remain at the same level.

After the iPhone X, many are the unknowns to reveal next September, a month that according to many rumors, Apple could present three new models, some of them with an LCD screen with a design similar to the iPhone X. By using an LCD screen, it would allow Apple to reduce manufacturing costs and power thus offering it at a much more competitive price than the iPhone X is found today.
