ITunes U Collections Moved to the iOS Podcast App

It's been a few years since the guys from Apple launched the platform iTunes U, an educational and informative platform in which we can discover educational content published by large institutions educational among which are some of the best universities in the world. Podcast, videos, and publications with which to learn from any content and discipline.

Apple now wants to unify applications, a new strategy to try so that we discover other applications and stay in them. And iTunes U courses are the first to suffer this move: now we can listen to all iTunes U courses from the iOS Podcast app. After the jump we give you all the details of this movement of the guys from Apple regarding iTunes U courses.

This movement is one more step after we saw how with the iTunes 12.7 release the Apple guys eliminated the App Store, now everyone iTunes U courses will go to the Podcast portion of iTunes; and in the case of iOS devices, it will be the Podcast app that integrates these iTunes U courses.

This is what they tell us in the iTunes U app update log, the new version 3.6 of the app:

  • All the iTunes U collections have been migrated to the Podcasts app and they will no longer appear in the iTunes U app. You can now view iTunes U collections in the Podcasts section of iTunes on Mac or PC, or in the Podcasts app on iOS devices or Apple TV.
  • Has improved performance of accounts with a large number of courses.

So now you know, if you want to continue enjoying the collections of iTunes U, Apple's educational collections, you have to use the native Podcast app (If you have deleted it, you can download it again). Some iTunes U courses that if you have not tried we recommend.
