Rumors about the arrival of new AirPods 3 with a new design much more similar to the current AirPods Pro have been flooding us in recent months. Photos of renders and supposed final models have been leaked, we have also been able to advance you that they would not be launched during this month previously (LINK to the post). Now new information about their production comes to light and a new date on which they could be launched on the market.
Taiwanese provider ASE Technology production of optical sensors for the new generation of AirPods, which is scheduled to be launched in the third quarter of 2021, would have startedaccording to industry sources cited in a paid article published by DigiTimes published today.
The full article has not yet been published so no further details are available but the times coincide with those that analyst Ming-Chi Kuo would have predicted. He himself commented (as we informed you in the post referenced in the first paragraph) that the AirPods would go into production during the third quarter of 2021.
Kuo also initially proposed that they would be released during the first half of 2021 and the large number of renders and photographs that were leaking, indicated that everything could be like this but it seems not to fit the information that we currently have since, as we have mentioned, even though production has already started, Its launch is not expected until the third quarter (July-September).
The third generation of AirPods are expected with a design very similar to the Pro but, at the design level, highlights the omission of silicone, making them not an in-ear model. On the other hand, it is also expected that lack noise cancellation, so the reduction in its final price compared to the Pro is practically guaranteed. Second-generation AirPods sell for $ 179 with a wired charging case or $ 229 with a wireless charging case, while AirPods Pro cost $ 279.
Apple released the Second generation AirPods in March 2019, followed by AirPods Pro in October 2019 so this renovation, especially at the design level, is sure to be very well received by users.
