Apple's new campus in Austin will have a 192-room hotel

Apple Campus in Austin, Texas

Apple has office spaces all over the world where some of the technologies that in the future could reach the devices that Apple commercializes in the market are developed. But in addition, it also has work campuses, campuses that are generally only found in the United States and who will soon be joined by a new one.

We are talking about the campus that Apple plans to build in Austin, Texas. This new campus, whose initial construction cost is estimated at 1.000 million dollars, will occupy an area of 280.000 square meters, will have a capacity for 5.000 employees and according to the Culturemap medium, will have a hotel with up to 192 rooms.

The hotel that Apple plans to build on the new Austin campus will have a extension of 7.000 square meters distributed over 6 floors. Culturemap has drawn this information from the latest blueprints that were presented to Austin City Hall last April for approval. The original plans, dating from 2018, did not include a hotel.

None of the different campuses that Apple has throughout the United States have hotels, so this would be the first to incorporate it so that employees who travel to campus for training or other needs can stay without depending on local availability.

Moment we do not know which company will manage the hotel, if it will be a hotel chain or if Apple will choose to create an independent company that is responsible for its management, as is the case today.

The construction of this new campus in Austin, started in november 2019 and it is still in a very early stage. The expected completion date is set for 2022, a date that will likely be lengthened in time if changes to the original plans continue to occur.
