The Pioneer AppRadio is now available

A month later since its press release, Pioneer has already launched its new double-din car radio (installable in double-height bays only) for the car that offers full integration with iOS and the iPhone.

The AppRadio has a 6,1-inch, multi-touch capacitive screen with a resolution of 800x400 pixels, an external microphone, Bluetooth connection, AM/FM radio receiver and a GPS antenna so that we don't miss anything, in addition Thanks to the AppRadio application (download) we can transfer the information from our iPhone directly to the car screen by simply plugging the phone into the 30-pin connector that the radio has.

AppRadio costs $ 399 and currently can only be purchased in the United States on sites like Amazon, Best Buy or Cruthfield.

After the jump you have another video of the AppRadio in action.

What a pity that it is only available for the US ... What would be interesting is to know if you can use another GPS program other than Pioneer.
And another thing that is clear is ... what a difference in touch screen! You can tell that the iPhone is much thinner ... 😉

I'll wait for them to take out the iCar, which is standard 😉

nice yes, but we are all a danger, as you spend looking at things on the screens, there are already enough deaths from looking at the gps, talking on the phone to put a major distraction on the road.
I'm sorry, but when stopped it would be good, but for driving, of course not.
cars should bring more safety and less entertainment.

Sorry, where is the standard GPS Navigator, that you control it with the Voice or from the Steering Wheel controls, take this off ... I've already seen this kind of »tactile» thing and it's a DANGEROUS distraction, however with the SDS of the RNS-E and the steering wheel controls, you are much better, more attentive to what you have to go, which is to drive, I have just as informed of where you have to go, since the indications appear in the FIS and on the screen 7 ″ of the RNS in addition to the voice …… if you add a Fiscom to the RNS to listen to the music of the mobile by Bluetooth and A2DP you no longer need ANYTHING more.

It's a shame. I wanted to install it in the car in which I have two screens on the headrests and it turns out that Apple has not allowed more screen outputs inside a car and does not have a socket to take these two screens. You can only see on the screen that the device brings, therefore, the videos that we can have archived to entertain children on long trips, nothing at all. I think Apple has something up its sleeve since any Pioner model, no matter how basic it may be, has output for screens
