Yelp is a service that allows us to rate establishments and restaurants in various countries and learn more about them from our iPhones. A few days ago the CEO of the successful application Yelp He made some statements related to a telephone conversation that he had with Steve Jobs and that we did not know until now. Google made a purchase offer to Yelp and Steve Jobs wanted to prevent this acquisition from happening.
In 2010, the CEO of Yelp, Jeremy stoppelman, received a personal call from Steve Jobs, who recommended that he not sell Yelp to Google and "stay independent." Stoppelman already had doubts about the possible sale to the search engine and after Jobs' call he ended up rejecting the option. Why would Jobs get personally involved in such a matter?
In iOS 6.0 we have got the answer to this question. It seems that the Apple guru already had in mind the option of incorporate reviews and information from Yelp in your own Maps application. Quite a success by Steve Jobs, since Apple Maps needed a provider of business information like Yelp.

Well, my Yelp doesn't seem like a big deal to me. It lacks information on establishments for many countries and cities, in Spain it only shows information for 4 or 5 cities. The truth is that the information that google had in its map application was great for me!
it includes a lot of information, what happens is that the maps are still in beta and not all the restaurants and points of interest that yelp has in their database have been placed. http://www.yelp.es
It is true what ThXou says, for example for Colombia and other Latin countries this would be useless, in addition google maps already has a large number of places covered and if it were to integrate with guru city for example if it would be unattainable for a competitor
