The Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch will be compatible with the iPhone

Samsung opens up to the world of Apple and does so through one of its latest products: the Gear S2 smart watch. This is confirmed by several sources close to the South Korean company. Apparently, Samsung is working on the development of the application "Gear Manager" for iOS, which could see the light very soon. This means that the Gear S2 smartwatch would work with our iPhones and all its functions could be managed through the Gear Manager app.

In this way, Samsung wants to compete directly against one of its fiercest rivals at the moment: the Apple Watch. And the best way to do it is with a product that has curves similar to traditional watches, but an interface suspiciously similar to that of the Apple Watch. Before the appearance of the Gear S2, Samsung had opted for smart watches with rectangular shapes and navigation very different from what we see in the Gear S2.

It was last September when the South Korean firm itself admitted the possibility of being working on an iPhone compatible product. The fact that this news has gained strength in the last hours makes us think that the compatibility of the Gear S2 with the iPhone would be close, although it has not yet been officially confirmed.

Before the news is official, Samsung must pass the "test" of the App Store. Apple will review the app and will need to make sure it meets all the terms and conditions of its app store.

Will the Samsung Gear S2 subtract sales from the Apple Watch?

It seems very interesting to me! Many of us would like to go out for a run with a watch with a heart rate monitor, which stores music, Bluetooth for headphones, ... and then synchronize, go running without the phone! The Gear S2 seems to deliver. But I want to wait for watch 2 next year and see if it surprises us ...

I hope that soon I can have things clear. I'm a fan of Apple, but this Apple watch with a square format, the lamentable battery and its very high price totally put me back. The Samsung is very successful, it seems like a traditional watch, a better battery than Apple and with modern and useful functionalities. Also for me the grace is in being able to do without the telephone, and go out with only one smaller thing, but for now it is far away.
