There will be no new MacBooks or iPads at WWDC 2018

On Monday from 19:00 p.m. (Spanish peninsular time) we will have the inaugural keynote of WWDC 2018. The Apple developers conference is the place where we are shown the news that will bring the next operating systems that will debut after the summer on our iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and Apple Watch. However, it is usually a time when Apple takes the opportunity to introduce us to new hardware, especially when it comes to computers.

According to a report published by Mark Gurman on Bloomberg, this year there seems to be little to do when it comes to hardware. Neither new MacBook nor MacBook Pro, nor new iPad, nor anything from the new Mac Pro. The news also adds information about the new Apple Watch that Apple will launch this fall, with a design very similar to the current one but with a larger screen.

In the last WWDC 2017 of June of last year Apple presented the new 10,5-inch iPad Pro as well as the second generation 12,7-inch iPad Pro. There was also room for the renewal of the MacBook and MacBook Pro. This year we will not see any of this at WWDC 2018. Apple is working on new MacBook and MacBook Pro but they will not be ready this summer and will have to wait until autumn. The same will happen with the iPad Pro, which will have a new design without frames and Face ID (but the good one, not Xiaomi's) but it will also be at the end of the year.

Regarding the Apple Watch, Gurman assures that there will be a new model for the end of the year, with a design and size practically identical to the current one, but with a larger screen by reducing the current frames. In addition, the current straps will be compatible, a relief for those of us who already have a wide collection of them. Regarding software news, iOS 12 seems to have an initiative on "Digital Health" that will make us aware of the use we make of the smartphone favoring a more rational use, in addition to ARKit 2.0 with multiplayer games, improvements in the notification system and the possibility of having iOS applications on macOS. All this will be confirmed on Monday, and you can follow it live on our blog and social networks.
