iOS 13 and iPadOS it has meant a change in perspective in the arrangement of operating systems for Apple products. Remember that iOS 13 is called the iPhone and iPod Touch system, while for the iPad the new system is called iPadOS. However, news between one and the other are similar, the only thing that changes is the denomination. One of the most important renovations in these new systems is the application Notes that has undergone a series of novelties, especially at the level of operation and design, which we analyze below with a quick glance.
Gestures are key to the renewal of Notes on iPadOS
The Notes app allows the user to have small notes in one place that they can edit and share at any time. Throughout the updates of recent years, the application has been suffering renovations and modifications that have been giving the app a boost: the inclusion of the Apple Pencil, the scanning of documents, the taking of photographs… with these small innovations the features have been increased, making Notes a more than useful option for less demanding users.
On the new iPadOS, gestures have become more important. It should be remembered that these gestures have grown in iOS over time from the invocation of multitasking to the return to springboard. However, iPadOS brings some gestures that will be useful for the easy handling of the app:
- Pinch with three fingers: doing this gesture we will copy the selected text.
- Release with three fingers: If we put three fingers together and take them from the inside out, we will be able to paste the text that we have copied.
- Swipe three fingers from right to left: We will undo what we have done previously. For example: paste what we had already copied with the previous gesture.
Text selection has become more useful
But these gestures are not everything. The way that we select text has also changed. If we take the cursor where the text input is, we can drag it to any other place, much easier than pressing and holding until the mythical magnifying glass appears. We can also select a word double clicking on it. If we press three times, we will select a phrase. And if we press four times, we will be able to select a complete paragraph.
If we add the gestures mentioned above to this way of selecting text, we make Notes an application fast and dynamic, that has nothing to envy to other applications. We can also add the use of the Apple Pencil both for drawing, taking notes or writing by hand.
A new one should also be highlighted toolbar located at the bottom natively. We can move it out of position if we click on it for a few seconds. We can also minimize it and press on the small icon that appears in the place where we have placed it to invoke the bar again. In this space we have the different pencils, markers, erasers and rulers that will help us personalize and give a more colorful and personal touch to our notes.
