The other day we got the news that Apple has already started replacing broken iPhone 5 screens in exchange for $ 149 by the user, a measure that some see as positive and others as negative but with which Apple intends to save a billion dollars a year.
The positive of this measure is that we take our own iPhone at the moment, with a new screen and with uA lower price than the one that was applied before regardless of the fault ($ 229 vs. $ 149 now). This way we avoid having to make a backup of our data (although it is still recommended to do so) to have to restore it later.
Focusing on the replacement of the iPhone 5 screen, Apple has acquired a machine like the one you see in the image above for each of its physical stores and thanks to it, technicians will be able to calibrate the terminal screen once it has been installed in it.
Customers who have contracted the Apple Care service for the iPhone ($ 99), they will be able to enjoy a discount on the screen repair bill, keeping the amount at $ 49. Obviously, it is not profitable to use it once but you already know that Apple Care covers other problems in greater numbers.
In addition to repairing screens, it is expected that the physical Apple Store will also begin to change the cameras, buttons and the motherboard of the iPhone.
