Today Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone six years ago

It is always said that "how time passes." Well yes, neither more nor less than six years have passed since Steve Jobs introduced the first iPhone, that phone for which nobody bet anything and that was launched without its main asset right now: the App Store.

In those six years, we have received a total of six iPhone models, all surrounded by controversy but that have ended up being a commercial success. It is true that the advantage over the competition that existed a few years ago is now totally non-existent or I even dare to say that Apple is lagging behind in many aspects (mainly software), however, the initial essence of the iPhone is still present and it hasn't changed one iota.

First iPhone

The first iPhone model, despite its limitations, It changed the world of telephony regardless of whoever it is. The phones that were on the market at that time had little or nothing to do with Apple's phone and while there were prototypes from other companies that looked like the iPhone, no company was brave enough to launch a similar proposal.

The most striking thing about the iPhone at the time was the screen. Those 3,5-inch capacitive, stylus-free and multi-touch capabilities loved it to everyone who tried them. Precisely today, the evolution in technology and markets have forced Apple to increase the size of the display to four inches in the case of the iPhone 5 and the fifth-generation iPod Touch.

All iPhones released

The rest of the hardware has also been improving with each generation. Year after year we have had improvements in processor, GPU, camera, RAM,… come on, which always happens in the world of technology. New functionalities have also been added over the years. The arrival of 3G and now LTE connectivity, the incorporation of the gyroscope, the compass, the new Lightning connector, ... There has always been a palpable evolution between one iPhone model and another although since the designs have been conservative between generations, the leap has always seemed small when it has not.

Pod Touch from 2007 with Jailbreak

My old 2007 iPod Touch with Jailbreak

What gives me the most pain in these six years is the persecutory desire that Apple has with the Jailbreak. It is understandable that they want to protect their platform but I believe that iOS and Jailbreak can coexist perfectly and achieve mutual benefit. It was precisely the jailbreak that made me acquire the first iPod Touch in 2007. It was impressive what that fine device was capable of doing. Bear in mind that at that time There was no App Store and for Apple, the iPod Touch was good for little more than listening to music and surfing the Internet.

Luckily the jailbreak has always been there for unleash the true potential these devices offer although Apple seems not to be willing to let us enjoy more of its advantages as it makes it more and more difficult. Exploits used to arrive in minutes after an update, now they take months.

This will be the year of the iPhone and iOS 7

This will be the year of the iPhone and iOS 7 (photo that always accompanies my avatar in Act. IPhone)

This year is once again the year of the iPhone but not because of its hardware, but because of its software. Apple has to show that it is still there, that it is the same company that once revolutionized the mobile phone market. iOS urgently needs the addition of certain functions and the resolution of problems that we are all familiar with.

Despite its shortcomings, it must be recognized that iPhone is still a best-selling phone, the App Store is the most profitable app store out there today and the accessory ecosystem that exists for iOS devices is not owned by any other brand.

We will see what surprises Apple has in store for us in 2013 that has just begun and in which we may see a iPhone 5S and an iOS 7 with features that surprise again.

I also have a 3gs, I dropped it in the bathroom, it got wet, I did a chemical cleaning in a Chinese shop, after it dried, I stepped on it with my military boots inadvertently while maneuvering, the screen burst and I changed it ... and here I have it working wonderfully, and although the passage of time is noticeable and applications such as WhatsApp do not work ... his little heart continues beating and he will die when he wants.

6 years ago another company SAMSUNG also changed its phones CURIOUSLY began to perish to the iphone when before it was gadgets with antennas. What a coincidence, they will pay it one day ..

the appearance is copied …… not the quality

What I don't understand is because since 2007 they haven't put a muzzle on the guy at the end who hits the voices ... That guy should be banned from apple conferences. I bet you get excited at home thinking about apple products.

It would be good if iphon one and three could be updated so that all of us who do not have economic facilities could enjoy some applications
