Top 5: My Essential Apps of 2014 (Pablo)

TOP APPS 2014

As every year, the editors of Actualidad iPhone We are ready to offer you a list with our favorite apps of 2014. Yesterday, our colleague Nacho started this year's Top and I advance that at least one of his selections coincides with another of mine.

In my list of essential applications of 2014 you will appreciate some changes of mentality and you will hear some other name that has caused quite a controversy during the last days. These are the applications that I have used the most this year.

5.Passbook

apple pay

In my list I will include a Apple's native app: Passbook. It seems that this tool has been relegated to the background, but the truth is that it is very useful for those people who buy tickets for concerts, for the cinema or who travel constantly. It is extremely convenient not to have to worry about printing a boarding pass at the airport. If you have the check-in done, just go to the airport security control and unlock the Passbook notification to show the card.

Another success that has led me to include Passbook in this list is the appearance of Apple Pay. Adding a credit card to the system is extremely easy and definitely has the potential to become the payment method of the future.

4. Google Maps

google maps

This is the year that i left apple maps and I have switched to Google Maps. If you listen to the Podcast of Actualidad iPhoneYou will know that I always used Apple Maps, until it began to give me too many problems. Indeed, Apple Maps still has a lot to do with the order of the day and it is common to get lost, with roads that no longer exist, if you use Apple's service.

Google Maps, and more after your design, is glorious in a city like Los Angeles. The Google application helps you always find the fastest route and updates in real time when a trajectory emerges that takes less time. Fully recommended.

3. Gym Pact

gympact

The application that not only helps you go to the gym, but it also forces you to do so so you don't lose money. It works quite well and allows us to establish a pact to go exercise. If you go on the agreed days, you earn a little money. If you don't go, you lose money. That easy. No tricks, no traps. This application does make you sweat so you don't lose money.

2. Dropcam

dropcam

Although the Dropcam security camera is only available for sale in the United States, the truth is that we can use it in any other country (we have tested it and it works. The problem is that you have to pay with a card from those territories ).

Its application for iOS devices is one of the most complete that we have been able to find in the home automation environment. You can get instant notifications on your iPhone when the camera detects motion or noise in your home and quickly connect to see if everything is under control. From the iPhone you also have the option to connect to your cameras at any time or speak through the microphone.

Great success of Google for having bought Dropcam.

1 Uber

uber

I am aware that this election will generate controversy and I agree that, if Uber wants to operate, it should submit to the legality of each territory and without using unfair competition tactics.

However, as a regular user of the service, I must highlight the interface of the iPhone application: clean, simple and extremely useful. Thanks to the great investment of Google, we can now see which path our driver is going to take us (choosing the best route from Google Maps) and share our arrival time with another contact. In addition, it allows us divide travel expenses between multiple users, which solves many problems when traveling with friends. Uber is cheap, pleasant to use, and a good way to get around big cities. In Spain it was blocked just yesterday.

Uber has already been banned, which is to be celebrated: not only is it illegal competition, but it is a very high risk for anyone who gets into one of these vehicles, often driven by criminals, hijackers, thieves and rapists.

The other day I saw José Bretón driving an Uber car. You can see the Fhys duster.
